Ellie & Lou

The Ellie and Lou accessories label was set up in 2005 by myself and Sarah Jay. Sarah completed an MA in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art in 2003, and found her practice diverting into jewellery design. We both have a love of making and crafts, which plays a central part in our individual arts practices and have been making ‘things’ together since the age of about 4.

Our philosophies and influences on making are so similar it seemed a logical step to set up a label together, although we work separately in different disciplines, bags and jewellery, the ideas and concepts behind our work are very much joined. Every piece that we produce is unique and handmade, created as a piece of wearable art. The way we work is a reaction to mass production; we want every piece to make our customers feel special, bringing luxury to everyday life.
